We had an amazing Christmas here at the state park in our RV. Surprised not to see more campers. We saw wildlife daily. So peaceful & beautiful.
This is a beautiful park that showcases some of the best Missouri outdoors has to offer. Scenic waterways, dense forest, and abundant wildlife. If you enjoy trout fishing there are plenty. The park host a trout hatchery that releases on a daily basis. The park store has everything you need to be successful in your fishing outing. You might try a weekday to lessen your chance of a crowd.
They grow and hatch their own rainbow trout. You can feed them by placing a quarter in a (gum ball) machine and turning the handle. I would love to go back even though I've never fished for trout. The spring is clear and cold and clean. 5 star place! Very well organized!
It was absolutely beautiful. The water was crystal clear. I probably saw a thousand trout. However the temperature was -1 degrees. Great time to go though
Great campsites. Four bar Internet. Bathrooms good. A ways from TV stations. This State Park caters fishing. Streams and ponds are stocked with fish. Campground is crowed with people in waders and fishing gear.
